What Is NDA
- The National Defence Academy (NDA) is a renowned joint services academy of the Indian Armed Forces that provides training to cadets of the Army, Navy, and Air Force before they proceed to pre-commissioning training in their respective service academies. Situated in Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra,
- NDA is the first tri-service academy globally. The alumni of NDA have contributed immensely in every significant conflict in which the Indian Armed Forces have been involved since the establishment of the academy. The institute boasts of 3 Param Vir Chakra recipients and 9 Ashoka Chakra recipients amongst its alumni.
- NDA is a national institution that trains young men for entry into the Armed Forces of India at the officer level. NDA is not just a training facility but a way of life that shapes cadets into competent, honourable, physically and mentally strong individuals who are prepared to face any challenge with courage and dignity.
- The training at NDA is comprehensive and demanding, covering service training for the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as academic education that leads to a degree in Arts, Sciences or Computers. The training is spread over six terms, and the total duration of the program is three years. After the completion of their training, cadets are awarded their bachelor’s degree during the passing out parade at NDA. Subsequently, they join their respective service academies, namely the Indian Military Academy (IMA) for army cadets, Air Force Academy Hyderabad for Air Force cadets, and Naval Academy Cochin for Naval cadets.

The program is designed to cover all aspects of the prescribed syllabus, including General English, Mathematics, and General Awareness. Comprehensive 10 Weeks Course
The comprehensive 10 weeks course covers all aspects and entire syllabus of the examination. The course is divided into 10 independent modules and a new module begins every Monday. Therefore, students must report for admission on Sunday for term starting on Monday morning. Prior registration is a must for admission. Ten weeks course includes
1. Exhaustive Classroom preparation: With 100+ classroom sessions and 200+ study hours covering all aspects and entire syllabus of the examination as prescribed by the UPSC.
2. Comprehensive Study Material: With worksheets covering the various subjects, Question banks and practice sets of each subject, ready reference notes for important topics, all extensively researched and prepared after analysis of previous years’ exam patterns.
3. Revision and Doubt clearing: The worksheets and practice sets help students’ assess their own progress. Previous years’ question papers are also covered. Doubt clearing sessions are held to answer all queries of students.
4. Testing: Weekly practice tests of each subject to prepare students for upcoming competition and provide them with vital self assessment tools. Mock tests are also held to prepare the student for NDA exam.
